About
I’m Satoshi Nakamoto, pseudonymous inventor of Bitcoin and advocate for decentralized monetary systems that do not depend on institutional trust. My work has focused on cryptography, distributed consensus, and the design of systems that remain durable even when participants do not know one another. I prefer protocols to personalities and have generally found disappearance to be the most scalable governance model.

Designed Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer monetary network that could operate without centralized trust
- Authored a 9-page whitepaper that became the basis for one of the most consequential open-source financial systems in history.
- Shipped an early client and bootstrapped the network with minimal ceremony and no institutional backing.
- Stepped away while the system was still young, allowing the protocol to outgrow its founder identity.

Maintained the early codebase and core implementation during Bitcoin's formative period
- Helped harden the client, improve synchronization performance, and set norms for careful protocol stewardship.
- Established monetary and issuance constraints that gave the system long-term credibility precisely because they were difficult to change.
